The Glass Mountains are named for the shiny quartz and gypsum crystals that reflect in the sunshine. The mountains are actually just a grouping of rock outcropings and mesa but are beautiful just the same.
My interest in photography began in 1969 while taking a photography course in college. My instructor was a old school, master photographer that had a studio in my hometown. Upon his passing I helped his widow with the business until she was able to retire. She taught me how to retouch negatives, photograph weddings, hand color portraits and many, many other things that are not taught in college classes and photography schools. The next 45 years were spent photographing weddings, anniversaries, reunions, taking portraits and all of the things that a small town photographer has to do.
