About Michael Ciskowski
My interest in photography began in 1969 while taking a photography course in college. My instructor was a old school, master photographer that had a studio in my hometown. Upon his passing I helped his widow with the business until she was able to retire. She taught me how to retouch negatives, photograph weddings, hand color portraits and many, many other things that are not taught in college classes and photography schools. The next 45 years were spent photographing weddings, anniversaries, reunions, taking portraits and all of the things that a small town photographer has to do.
Upon my retirement in October of 2014 at the age of 68 and 46 years with the Postal Service, I still had a love of photography but had tired of doing general photography. I wanted to reinvent myself as a photographer but still benefit from the knowledge and experience that I had gained over the years.
I would hope that the viewer will find my photographs enjoyable and maybe find one that reaches out to you.
Norma and I live in Udall, Kansas and have two beautiful grandchildren and a house rabbit named Gus. Since retiring from my day job, we now have the time and freedom to travel and take photographs as we wish.
